NEVER CEASE TO LEARN

Life is our greatest teacher. Each day brings a new lesson, and an opportunity to acquire new skills. We can learn so much from one another, through shared stories, experiences, and team work. Therefore, our education is never ending, and we should never cease to learn.

Salve Regina University, Newport RI

I went to Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island. I went in as a double-major, where I studied English Literature and Studio Art with a concentration in Painting. I was apart of the Pell Honor Program, which encouraged higher learning, community service, and an overall desire to strive excellence.

Through Salve's accredited Art's Program, I was able to discover my love for painting. I originally went into the art's program with the goal of becoming an illustrator, but after taking an painting class for fun, found that I loved oils so much more. I have been painting for about two years now, and in that time have done a lot of experimentation. I now find myself enthralled with painting large scale panoramic pieces.

Salve's English Department has nurtured my passion for writing and literature. My professors have been great influences, and helped me to push past my limits, and better my work. I have had a wide variety of courses in American Literature, British Literature, Literature Theories, and Creative Writing.

St. Clare's International School, Oxford UK

For four weeks of Summer 2017 and my Spring 2018 Semester I chose to study abroad in Oxford, England, at St. Clare's International School. I attended St. Clare's short term program of the 2017 summer, and by the end of my four weeks I was left with a desire to pursue more of an education at St. Clare's. Oxford not only offered a wide variety of new ways to learn, but since St. Clare's is an International School, it was also a brilliant opportunity to experience other cultures, and make world wide connection.

Dr. Edward Clarke, of St. Catherine's University, offered to teach me in a Oxford Tutorial style course on Willam Blake, in which I would not only study his poems, but also his artwork. At this offer I immediately chose to return to St. Clare's that following Spring.

The experience was a truly incredible journey that I would not trade for the world. It opened my eyes to so many new ways of learning and teaching. Experiencing the Oxford style Tutorial was a wonderful challenge that bettered me in both work and student learning. I was able to travel many parts of Europe, in which I was able to witness the many cultures of this world first hand, allowing me to better understand others of this world.

Gateway Community College, New Haven CT

My choice of double-major happened to have the fourth largest amount of needed credits at Salve. In order to graduate on time I had to take summer course outside of Salve.

After my return from St. Clare's during the summer of 2017 I chose to enroll in two course at Gateway, both courses were Core Curricular classes.

The Chase Collegiate School, Waterbury CT

I moved to Waterbury CT, from Dallas TX, my senior year of High School. For my last year of High School (Secondary School), I went to The Chase Collegiate School.

At chase I was prepared for a college education, and worked on being an innovator within my community. I enjoy my one year at Chase, where I learned even more about being a community leader, and how to be a confident scholar.
